  • Labyrinth

Welcome to our labyrinth! A labyrinth is a like a maze but has just a single winding path from the entrance to the centre. Labyrinths have been used for centuries by Christians and others as a way to slow down, find space, and reflect.

  • Open Day

On Saturday 11 September we invited the world into our building to see the result of the refurbishment, to mark the completion of the project and to formally thank all those who made it possible, including the organisations that provided grants towards the work.

  • Getting a-head (stone)

One of the items arising from our last building condition report – which had been glowering at us from our never-ending to-do list for a little too long – was to move the headstones that were leaned up against the west outside wall of the church.

  • A Cautious Reopening

We are delighted to say that we have resumed Sunday morning meetings at the church.

  • And Closed Again!

In the light of the national lockdown announced on 4 January, we have regretfully taken the decision once more to suspend all in-person meetings at East Leake Baptist Church.

  • We Are Back!

Last Sunday we had our first meeting in the refurbished chapel. It was also the first time we had been together in person since 15 March, just before the first UK national lockdown began. It has been a long nine months.

  • Before and After

I thought it would be fun to post some photographs comparing the church sanctuary before the refurbishment and after. Enjoy!

  • Decoration Complete

The decorators have finished in the sanctuary and and it looks amazing! See below for some photographs of the final result.

  • Painting

The decorators have started! Here are some photographs of progress.

  • Refurbishment Update

The refurbishment work to the chapel is now expected to be complete by the end of August, which is great news. The upgrades to the lighting have had to be delayed until later in the year because we have missed the window of opportunity in the bat roosting calendar to work in the roof space.
